I sit in little room with guys then leave at 7:00 to take Beth's Scion to the Toyota dealer to get left rear tail-light replaced. Sit and wait for an hour and a half. Annie Baddely's 80th Birthday

Grocery shopping after meeting. Home and unload and put stuff away. Beth here and we sit and talk for awhile; then I into office and work at computer. Beth and I out to do some chores - one of which is to get flu shots. Home and I fix us some lunch. We eat and talk. After I down for nap with girls. Up and bring in mail. Fed girls. Open mail for Beth. She reads mail and I into office to work at computer. Putz for awhile; then we both start getting ready for Annie's 80th birthday party. I start to feel sick (reaction to flu shot). We drive to Ingleside Inn in Palm Springs. Most of us guests wait in bar for a few minutes; then it's meet and greet on patio where we'll be eating. 17 guests in all. I just keep getting sicker and sicker. I nibble at salad and only a few bites of dinner. Everyone else has a great dinner. By the time the presents are about to be opened, Beth asks if I'd like to leave. I say yes and we leave early. Home and I dive into bed without washing face or anything - sick as a dog. Sleep within minutes. Later ~

I make lunch and eat while watching Wyoming Mail with Stephen McNally and Alexis Smith. I feed girls then down for nap. Up 3:45. Bring in chicken and steaks from QVC that were delivered while we slept. Into fridge. Work in office. She in bed and bring her things. She into dining room. I make macaroni for dinner and we eat. She in bed all afternoon, though she is able to get a few washes done. I drive to her place of employment to get the mail. Once home i start dinner - a steak for me, some noodles for her. We decide not to do meeting at 2:00 a.m. - she's been throwing up all night; my stomach still isn't good. I up 4:00. Shower and dress. Make breakfast and eat. No antibiotics. Work on computer. Get her up at 5:30. She wants to go to her doctor appointment rain or shine. We're both ready by 8:00 and leave for doctor at 8:15. Her wound is doing OK. Getting better and better. They'll do graft on Friday. We home and she to bed. I make some toast and honey then stay up for another hour before I join her. We both sleep until 2:00. I up and drive to Von's for crackers and Gatorade. Home and she eats crackers and Gatorade. I have some, too. She sleeps in p.m. - I work at computer. She wants nothing to do with food. Beth has good, almost painless sleep all night. We up early. I get ready then help her to get ready. To dining room for breakfast together. Several of her fellow committee members stop by to talk. Brenda there - she's working in hospitality room. We to room while Beth gets money ready for trip to bank. Sheri takes her to bank. I talk to Brenda; take some pics; to room for nap. Beth back and I up from nap. She to room to put her leg up. We talk and TV. No QVC, thank God. We spend the rest of the afternoon in room then get ready for banquet. She off to planning meeting; I join her at 6:00 for banquet. Fellow members join me at table and finally Beth gets there. Dinner and chat with friends. Beth and I leave before speaker and go to room. Get ready for bed and watch NCIS marathon until we go to sleep. Later ~

Brenda is gone and Beth is home. I work at computer. Beth and I have a quick lunch. After Ice cream, I down for nap. Around 2:00, Sheri Priess by to pick up Beth and take her to Doral hotel for MDD. I up and pack more until I'm ready. Feed girls. Then I into car and drive to Doral hotel. Beth has already checked in; so I take my stuff to room and put it away. Out and find Beth - who is using her walker this year. We talk, and I mingle with others. To Bill White's mini-meeting at 5:00. When that's over I join Beth, Brenda and Sheri for dinner in hotel dining room. We to hospitality room for ice cream cone before we head to room to get ready for bed. Watch some TV together. Later ~

Sam here and I give him instructions on feeding girls, etc. He's taking care of house and girls during Maad Dog Daze. I get ready and off to Indio for Monthly Conservative Round Table - stop on El Paseo to pick up stuff for Beth on way. Arrive in Indio and to Chinese place. We have lunch and good political discussion. I leave at 2:30. Home just before 3:00. Feed girls. Beth is down with leg up. I get ready and into bed for nap. Girls too. I up 4:30; join Beth in office. I out and start BBQ. prepare meat -steak for me and chicken-ka-bob and salad for her. Turn on O'Reilly. Cook and watch TV. Meat done and bring in in. We eat and watch O'Reilly. She into bedroom and foot up. I bring ice cream in to her and we enjoy dessert. She up from leg up exercise. Both prepare for bed. I try to call Randy Hewitson who contacted me through Linkden. Help her get undressed. Then I get ready. Write here. Later ~

Leave meeting early with Beth because she has appointment with wound clinic at 8:00. I home and pick her up at her work place then to Eisenhower campus and wound clinic. Finally she's found someone who understands what her problem is all about. No more VAC for now. The take culture (for first time); take pics of wound; use Lidocaine so she has no pain; very careful all around. Beth and I both impressed - she back in a week. To blood draw for her while I to drop and pick up antibiotics at Sav-On across street. First time anyone has noticed she has an infection, too. Pick her up at blood place and we get her car at work and both home. I fix lunch while she takes MDD calls. We eat and I have ice cream desert. I down for nap with girls while she joins me for a half hour with her foot up. I up and bring in mail. Feed girls. Open mail for her, I work in office. She now has to lie down every two hours with her foot up. She into office while I make her a fast dinner. She into dining room and eat. Then she's off for MDD meeting at Hall. I watch some TV. She home and has ice cream. Start getting her ready for bed. MDD people still coming by at all hours. I write here. Then I get ready. Later ~

Home quick after meeting - check e-mail but don't read. Hi to girls; then straight to Beth's place of employment to pick her up. We to Eisenhower for her appointment with Dr. Shultz. Nearly first one in and he says it looks better but he's sending her to Pain Clinic starting tomorrow. We to car and zip up to credit union; then over to Pet Smart to get Daisy food; on to Costco to pick up her new glasses and back to her place of work. I off to pick up hamburger and chicken Sante Fe at Carl's, Jr. Home with food. Phone message for Beth from pain clinic. Call her with info. I go ahead and eat while I watch second episode of Entourage. She home and eats. I down for nap with girls. She reads paper and works on MDD stiff. I up and feed girls. Bring in mail. She opens mail and reads. I into office and work at computer. I to bank to for her; then to gas up her car. Home. She's taking calls regarding MDD. We watch O'Reilly. I make dinner and we eat. At 6:00 I into office and one of her MDD ladies drops by. I write here. Lady gone. Get Beth ready for shower. Get her ready for bed. I get ready. Later ~

Home after meeting and check e-mail and news sites with girls and chips. Work at computer for awhile. Write an outline of a dream I had last night in case I ever want to start a novel using the theme. I call Beth and she'll be home soon. She finally gets here and set her up at table with ice on her foot. We talk for awhile. She into office and people begin to arrive to drop off things for MDD and to turn in registration. Finally I make us some lunch and we eat. Nurse hasn't called yet so I into bedroom and down for nap with girls. While I sleep, Beth calls nurse - the old nurse had forgotten to tell the new nurse she needed to show up today. The new nurse comes over and takes the VAC vacuum off Beth's ankle. I finally up with a foot cramp. Walk it out and finally get up and dressed. Nurse still here when I get food ready for girls. Into office and feed them while I work at computer. Nurse leaves and I into dining room to talk to Beth. She into office while I make salads for dinner - she has some frozen Italian food. After dinner she works at dining room table. I in to office and watch Ken Maynard in Phantom Thunderbolt (1933) on a western web site. Check with her in dining room, then back to office to write here. We get her ready for bed - no VAC tonight.
