July 4th 2009 - Fellowship Hall, Palm Desert, CA

Grocery shopping after meeting as usual. Home and put stuff away. Beth is busy preparing this afternoon's 4th of July bash at fellowship Hall. Talk Tom Snow then Beth. Down for nap with no lunch. Up at 12:30. Talk to Tom Snow again. Feed girls. Then it's off to the Hall where I wait for Beth and the others to begin preparing for fest. ztom zsnoe arrives and more get there. Set up Hall for 4th party. People start arriving and hot dogs are'a cookin. Sit with Bill and Sunny. Things start to slow down around 4:00 - some straglers but clean up starts. I home. Beth an Brenda take left overs to Indio Mission. I get home and work at computer for awhile. Call Tom. Beth finally home and we have ice cream drumsticks; then we watch 4th of July Special from Washington D.C. with Jimmy Smits as host. Into bed and she watches a rerun of the sams show until we both fall asleep. Later ~

Home from meeting and check e-mail and news sites with girls and no snacks. Send a few e-mails. Call Cinovation about Scriptware and leave message. Call Jimmy at 9:00 then John Marzacola at 9:30. John not ready to talk so hang up and call Jimmy back - leave a message. Work on script until 11:00 then drive to meet others for lunch at Mexican place on Country Club Drive. Home. Call Beth - wait for her to come home then down for nap with girls. She has tile guy here when I get up - he leaves. Try call Jimmy. Work on script some more. Guy from Scriptware sent e-mail that helped me to add scene. Talk with Beth. We call Tommy and talk. Jimmy George calls. John Marzicola calls. Fix dinner and we eat. Watch pay to play movie: Gran Torino with Eastwood. Later ~

Virginia and Happy Shahan

Virginia Shahan passed away.
Straight home from meeting. Check e-mail and news sites with girls and peanuts. Work on script up to where we left off yesterday; then call Jimmy. We run through script and polish it until 10:45; then I'm off to Indio to talk with Joel and Michele before I have my monthly Conservative Round Table luncheon meeting. Call Beth on way home. Once there I bring in mail and feed girls - then it's down for my nap. Up and work at computer for a short time. Then it's clean side yard and sweep floors. Beth home and we talk. Fix dinner and eat. We both call and talk with Tom Snow. Both into office where she works at her stuff while I work at mine. Later ~

Stop to pick up something on way home. Once home, I check e-mail and news sites with girls and the last of the Fritos. Sam Cropper by to fix plaster in Beth's bathroom. Shortly after he starts, he tells me we need a plumber. Sam leaves and I call Beth. She has plumber call me and I say call me when you can come over. Place my pre-planned call to Jimmy George at 9:00 Pacific time - 11:00 his time. We go over script and smooth it out as we go. Spend two hours on phone then plan to pick up where we left off at 9:00 tomorrow. Beth calls about Dan the plumber. I eat while watching something on Western Channel. Down for nap but leave my cell phone beside bed. 14-minutes it rings. It's Beth - Dan the plumber is on his way. Get up and dress just in time to let plumber into house. I work on Jimmy's and my changes while Dan works in Beth's bathroom wall. $175-dollars later the leak is fixed. Pay him and he leaves. I continue working on script until 4:00; then I sweep floors and clean up side yard. Beth home and we talk. I make dinner and we eat. Both to office and we go over the Lodge Trust we are having drawn up. Almost done and we decide to continue at a later date. She showers. Later ~

Leave meeting early for another blood draw - the one I forgot to bring the paperwork for yesterday. Call Sherry and by her place for re-scheduled haircut. To post office and mail two And Action! books. Finally home and make breakfast, as I had to fast for the blood work. Watch new episode of Kings but - turn it off for good when plot began to piss me off. Up until then, I Had really liked the canceled series. Watch two recorded episodes of Entourage instead. Down for nap with girls. Up and bring in mail and package for me - turns out to be a NRA gift: a beautiful Bowie Knife that can be mounted on a wall. Feed girls and open rest of mail. Call Tom Snow and we talk. Clean up side yard and sweep floors. Work at computer. Call Jimmy George and set up phone meeting for tomorrow. Beth home and we talk. She to office and I make dinner. We eat. Watch a rerun of CSI: Miami. Both to office for last minute things. Later ~

Leave meeting early for a blood draw - forget to take form for regular visit so set up another draw for tomorrow. Home and check e-mail and news sites with girls - and Fritos - Just a few. To Cat City to buy a cane and pick up something for Beth. On to bank and make some deposits; then to o Office Depot for some Xeroxing for Beth - and on to Pet Smart to buy dog food. Home and have some lunch while watching a couple of Entouragee re-runs. Down for nap with girls. Up and bring in mail - 109 degrees outside. Feed girls and open mail. Spend some time at computer. Talk to Tom Snow. Sweep tile and clean up side yard. Beth home from work and I help her unload her car. Pre-arranged phone call from Mark in Tucson with questions about some old TV Shows I worked on in Old Tucson. Make some dinner and we eat. Take out trash. Then we watch a re-run of CSI: Vegas. Work at computer then: Later ~

Jeff Chandler - died at age 42

Sleep in day. Beth up and off to Hall. I up 5:50. Breakfast with paper and girls. Check e-mail and news sites. Somehow my favorites aren't the same as before; perhaps it was caused by my accessing my favorites on my laptop. Beth and I to Sam's Club to get assorted things Eric didn't get. We have a hot dog together. We by Tom Snow's for a nice talk. Drop Hall items at Hall; then home. Talk for awhile then I down for nap with girls. Up and she's feed girls. She off for Maad Dog Daze meeting. I call Jeff Sneller and a fan - Marty. Work at computer. Beth calls. She's on way home with dinner. Watch some Jeff Chandler movie for a few minutes. Beth home and we eat burritos from Chipotle's. She works in office; then we watch something we recorded on TV. Later ~
