I call Beth to let her know how we did. Then it's down for nap with girls. Up and check e-mail; bring in mail; take pills; and feed girls. Crystal eats fast for once in her life. I into office and call Tommy Snow. He saw what may become his new home today and love it; will work out the details on Monday. Home after meeting and check e-mail and news sites with sausage, cheese, crackers and girls. Write a sympathy card to George Coan's family. Drive to hospital dropping card off at post office on way. Stop in to see Tommy at dialysis center - Bill White there but Tommy's asleep. I leave sweat pants Beth bought for him and head on upstairs where I: meet Beth in hallway then in to see Dr. Karl Shultz. He checks out Beth's sutures then discusses further surgery to make sure all is well. Otherwise, he's pretty sure she's cancer free but just wants to be certain. We both downstairs to see a now-awake Tommy. Bill still there. We all talk awhile then we leave. Beth back to work and I home. I eat lunch while watching a Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette western. Call Beth and off to nap. Up and bring in mail; take pills; and feed girls. Into office and write here. Clean up side yard and sweep floors. Beth home and we talk after her chores. I cook dinner and we eat. No TV tonight. I put out trash. She office then shower. Later ~

I home and make (diet) lunch then watch an old Ken Maynard, Hoot Gibson western. Talk to Beth then down for nap with girls. Up and bring in mail - take my pills, and open mail. Feed girls. Talk to Beth. Try Tommy but his phone is not answering. Call Jimmy George and talk for a short time. Work at computer then clean up side yard and start clean floors. Beth home early and we talk. I fix some dinner then she off to H&I Meeting. I make some Tuna for my breakfast. Work at computer. Beth home. We watch recording of last nights rerun of NCIS. Later ~

Beth stays home to rest and I drive alone to meeting. Home after ans have a snack. Talk to Beth and she's feeling much better. We off to her place of employment where I leave her for awhile; then I over to Eisenhower Dialysis Center to visit Tommy Snow. Meet Bill White in parking lot and we wait for a late Tommy to arrive. He's less than a half an hour late so Bill and I continue to talk while Tommy is hooked up to his machine. We inside to see him and the three of us talk about the latest decision that will move him into an assisted living place near the Palm Springs Dialysis Center. Bill and I leave at same time. I to pick up Beth and we home. She had lunch with gardeners so I fix lunch for me and eat with news. She joins me at table with paper. I down for nap with girls. She joins me in bed after awhile. I up and bring in mail; take pills and feed girls. She wakes up and we talk. She makes some phone calls. Restful afternoon. Make some dinner and eat; then watch Monday's recording of CSI: Miami. My lovely wife, Beth

Up as usual and to meeting; clean up and stay until 7:00. Leave and stop at her place of employment to get out ice for the workers; then we to Luci Curci Breast Center where Beth is prepared for her surgery. She was then wheeled over to Dolores Hope same-day-surgery floor; and by the time I moved car and got there she was being prepared (changed into gown) for surgery. I am allowed to go in and sit with her until they wheel her into the OR. I wait in waiting room and read I eat some lunch I brought along (her idea) and the surgeon come in to tell me all went well and for her to see him in his office on Thursday. Awhile later I am allowed into the recovery room where I find her in a lot of pain. Pain medicine is just being administered and within minutes, she's OK. We talk and joke with her nurse and stay fo over an hour. Finally she's released and brought down after I get the car. We drive home and it's almost 3:00 p.m. Settle in and I get mail - she opens it. I feed girls and check e-mail. Rick Mesa had called when we were in transit and will talk to us tomorrow. Call Brenda and ask if she will pick up Beth's prescription. Both of us miss our planned naps. She to bedroom to rest while I check e-mail. Brenda here with meds; stays and talks awhile. Shannon calls and she and Beth talk for some time. I show Beth a heart-warming video; then to kitchen and start working on dinner. We eat. Call brother Bob and Eva. Call Sharon, her boss. Move into office while she make up my diet tuna. She joins me. We both tired from the day and bed early. Later ~

She off to Hall to talk to Sola-lite guy while I eat lunch with some football. She hoe and eats. Tommy Snow calls from nursing home. Beth starts doing my pills while I go down for nap with girls. Up and Beth has finished my pills. We drive around looking for small blankets for OPO and Mission. Stop at Palm Springs Ford to look over the Flex - nice vehicle - both of us test drive. One more store for some blankets then by Papa Dan's to pick up her dinner. Home - I fix my dinner - and we eat. She washes her hair while I catch up here. Later ~

Grocery shopping after meeting then home to unload and put away. Sola-lites are working just fine - actually they are great. Check e-mail and news sites with sausage, Misty, and Crystal. On to Eisenhower dialysis center to visit with Tom Snow - who is feeling just fine (and looks fine) though he doesn't realize he's a very sick man. Beth by the center and we all talk for awhile. Then we both home and meet with the guy who will be putting in our new fences and walls. After that, we into house where I make some lunch and we both eat. I on into bed room for my nap with the girls. Beth putzes around while I sleep. I up and bring in mail. She opens mail and goes through it while I take pills and feed girls. Eventually I move to office ans she follows shortly. Call Jimmy George in Mississippi - he's not doing that well. Back to office. Work beside Beth for a few more minutes; then to kitchen and start getting dinner ready. We eat and talk. Both tired so no movie tonight. She showers, I straighten up living room and kitchen. See gardeners while there. Had a snack on way over. Back home; Brenda still cleaning. I work at computer; listen and watch Rush on 24/7. Talk Beth. UPS here for Beth and she by to pick it up. Says Hi and leaves. I make lunch and watch some TV. Brenda finishes up and leaves. I to office then to take nap with girls. Sola-lite guy calls and will be over in a half an hour. I up and get ready. Call Beth. I'm at computer when he calls back and asks if 4:00 is a better time. I say yes and go back to bed. Up at 3:00 - bring in mail; take pills; feed girls; call Beth. Waiting for sola-lite guy and it's 4:03. Sola-lite guy here and begins on final two (Beth added another in hall). Eventually, Beth arrives home and we bring in her stuff. Talk about the day. Guy still working. I start cooking dinner; and we eat. Guy finishes with sola-lites and Beth pays him. Then we sit down to watch recording of CSI: Vegas - turns out to be a rerun so watch the ending of the Elizabeth Taylor documentary instead. She showers. Later ~

She gets sonogram; I have stitches removed from procedure two weeks ago. We split and I to closer market and get sausages. Home and make early lunch - eat while watching TV, Beth calls. Down for nap with girls. Up and work in office. Sola-lite guy here and starts work on our solar lights. I work in office. Tommy Snow calls from hospital - sounded weak - and we talk about a few things. He says he's being moved back to nursing home tonight (probably at dinner time). Talk to Beth as we make some decisions on solar lights. Clean side yard and start getting trash ready to go out tonight. Two sola-lites installed today - one left for tomorrow. Beth home and we talk. Fix dinner and we eat. After we watch Liz Taylor documentary I recorded a month or so ago. Later ~

Down for nap with girls. Up and check e-mail. Bring in mail and open it for Beth Feed girls. Talk to Beth and call Jimmy George. Tom Snow is still in hospital but no longer in restraints. Home and lunch early while watching the conclusion of an Eddie Dean Western. Down for nap with girls. Up in an hour and feed them. To Eisenhower to meet Beth. We stop at my kidney doctor first to get some lab reports filled out; then it's down a floor to our surgeon. Good meeting - she's doing better than she expected. Set some dates for her surgery preparations. He takes off my back bandage. She back to work and I home. Bring in mail. Talk to Jimmy George. Clean up side yard. Sweep floors.

We drive to Loma Linda today and miss meeting as I have an appointment to see a LL doctor about rising numbers in my blood work. After examination by two nephroligists, it was decided I needed a kidney biopsy. It will be a one day procedure - a 15-minute procedure followed by four hours of recovery room; in addition to having to arrive a hour early for procedure. Beth found out from phone call there was a small altercation at the Hall this morning. We drive home stopping at McDonald's for lunch. Once home, she heads back to work and I down for nap with girls. Up and feed girls. No mail. Talk to Beth, Tommy, and Jimmy George. Clean up side yard. Sweep floors. Computer for awhile. Beth home and we talk over lemonade and soft drink. I fix dinner and we eat. I bed early as I'm fighting a cold with Zicam. She in later to watch Dancing with the Stars.

Fish tacos for them and a BLT for me - then they to Hall to unload and put away; while I head home to dessert and nap with girls. Up and Beth is home. I take pills and feed girls. We talk and read paper. Try call Tommy but his cell isn't on. Watch an anti-global warning documentary with Beth. Then I make dinner and we eat and talk. She into office to finish up a report, which I finalize while she showers. I get ready. Later ~

Grocery shopping after meeting. Home, unload and put away. Bethie home and does a few things; then she's off to hair appointment. I check e-mail and news sites with girls and small bit of popcorn; then I'm off to dialysis center to see Tom Snow. See Rick as he's leaving. Talk to Tommy. He's not in too good of shape mentally - has trouble finding right words, etc. Spend about an hour then home where I fix lunch and watch beginning of Man From Del Rio with Anthony Quinn. Down for nap with girls. Up at 2:30. To kitchen. Beth is feeding girls. Sit and talk. Eventually it's diner time so I start cooking. Turn on Hannity. We eat while watching TV. Glenn Beck follows with health care show. After that we decide not to watch a movie. She showers; I get ready. Later ~

To meeting in same car. Do our usual chores then leave after 15 mins. of meeting. Take Beth to doctor for a procedure. I home and check e-mail and news sites. On to blood draw; then back to hospital and appointment with surgeon who worked on me last week. Stitches will come out next Thursday. Then I pick up Beth and take her home. In the mean time, I stopped in to see Tommy Snow at dialysis and he hadn't come in yet - they thought it may have been a transportation mix up. When Beth and I got home there was a message from Rick Mesa: Tommy crashed at rest home and they sent him back to Eisenhower. Rick said he'd talked to Tom and he had no idea why he was there. I have some lunch; Beth not up to food right then. I down for nap with girls. Beth up and watch TV. I up and bring in mail. Pills and feed the girls. Sit and talk with Beth for awhile. Clean up side yard. Sweep floors. Try Tommy again; no answer; don't leave message. Rick Mesa calls again and he is also finding it difficult to get through to Tom. Surgery Day

Up at usual time - no eat - fix Beth some breakfast. Snooze on couch for awhile. Wake her up. Work at computer. When she's ready we take of for Dolores Hope Building at Eisenhower. Check in to same-day-surgery. Wait is short then I in and change into gown. Into a bed; answer more questions. Beth brought in and we talk. Before you know it, I'm wheeled into OR. Before you know it the procedure is all over and I'm back in recovery room with Beth. We wait an hour, then she drives me home. Brenda is cleaning. I check e-mail, etc. Brenda leaves and I make my some lunch. Then Beth and I eat together in kitchen. She off to work. I try Tommy - his phone isn't on. Then it's down for a nap with girls. Up and write here. Work at computer. Finally talk to Tommy. Beth home early and we talk over lemonade an soft drink. I fix dinner and we eat. She showers then we watch NCIS. Later ~

We talk for about an hour. Home and deli lunch with Beth. Down for nap with girls. Beth's watching QVC. We drive to Costco and buy more Hawaiian shirts for me; plus a couple tops for her. Pick up a pizza on way home; then have dinner when we get home. She showers and I clean kitchen. Set up DVD player and we watch her new Dirty Dancing DVD. I into office to check e-mail and write here. Watch end of movie. Later ~

Leave meeting early and home. Check e-mail and news sites with girls. Then it's off to Eisenhower for pre-op appointments. Try call Tom with no phone turned on. Talk to Jimmy George. Once at hospital I do admittance paperwork; sit; blood work; sit; EKG and chest X-ray. Call Beth from parking lot and ask her to meet me for lunch. She says she'll pick me up at home in a few minutes. Home and put car away. Hi to Girls. Beth picks me up and we to Mimi's for one of their two-for-the-price-of-one coupon lunches. Home after and down for nap. Up from nap and bring in mail. Feed girls. Open mail. Read some Limbaugh Letter. Call Jimmy George and talk; Call Tommy Snow and we talk. Clean up side yard. Sweep floors. Computer. Beth home and unload her car. Lemonade and Dr. Pepper talk. Dinner - half of our wraps we had left over from lunch. She to office for awhile. Then we watch CSI: Vegas. Later ~

Home from meeting and check e-mail and news sites with girls, cheese and crackers. Beth calls and I take off and meet her at Sam's Club and we do shopping for Hall. By Tom's to pick up his credit card. We split and I by dialysis center to see Tommy and give him his card. Home for a few minutes then drive to Indio; stopping by Leather Plus to talk with Joel for awhile. Then on to Chinese place for first Thursday of the month Conservative Roundtable. Nice conversation and food. Drive home and call Beth. Feed girls and open mail. Down for nap late. Up 4:00. Dress and call Beth. She will be coming home soon to get a check she wants to cash at bank. I clean side yard; and sweep fast. She home and off to bank. I start watching O'Reilly. Beth back and works in yard for awhile. Once she settles inside, we talk for a spell. I fix dinner and we eat. I take a look at Glen Beck recording; she to office. I join her in office and work on this. Later ~
