Move into living room around 10:30 and watch beginning and ending of The Streets of Laredo - turns out it had three parts and what I recorded off TV was only Part II. Very good Western -well made, well written, well directed, and well acted. My old writing partner, Dave Cass had a good part and his 2nd unit direction stuff was wonderful, as usual. Frank Q. Dobbs, another good friend and writing partner, produced; with a list of others - and he played the part of a train engineer with dialogue.
Of course I made lunch and ate while the movie played. Down for nap with girls. Up and bring in mail. Pills. Feed girls. Open mail for Beth. He calls back within 15-minutes with news that Tommy died. Beth and I talk about Tommy for awhile. We drive to the Greek Festival - which has many more people in attendance than last year - and eat Greek Food. Pick up some for tonight, too. She drops me at home and is off to meet Brenda at Sam's Club where they will shop for the Mission. I down for nap with my girls. Up and take my afternoon pills. Feed girls. Into office and write a fan about Family Affair. Write a note to the Stuntmen's Association to accompany check for Bobby Hoy's memory. Work at computer for awhile. Beth home and we talk. My 28th AA Birthday. It was 28-years ago today I put down the bottle for good. Ever since that day I have never had a drink of alcohol. My entire life changed; opening a brand new world for this former drunk. Thank you, God.
Took my 28th AA cake at meeting. Afterward, got my haircut at Sherry's. Home and snack with girls while I check e-mail and news sites. Beth called. Tried calling Bobby Hoy again on his cell and still no answer. Call the house number and reach his wife, Kiva. Bobby was rushed to the hospital several weeks ago with heart problems. It has been touch and go though now he's resting and no longer in ICU. Her advice was I keep trying his cell - maybe he'll have it on eventually. Moved into living room around 10:30. Finished watching Revolt at Fort Laramie; then a Lash LaRue and "Fuzzy" StJohn PRC Western. Had some left over pizza from last night while viewing. Down for nap with girls.
