Beth's Semi-Annual Grammer School Reunion

Grocery Shopping after meeting then home and unload and put away - with Beth's help. Then we load up and prepare to go to John and Sue Watts' for semi-annual reunion of Beth's school chums. Use GPS until it puts on wrong freeway and gets us completely lost and into an argument. Unplug the damn thing and follow John's written instructions and arrive in Huntington Beach in 2 1/2 hours. Nice get-together. Good food and fellowship. Talk and take pictures. Leave around 4:30 - Home by 6:30 - 2 hours. My books (SOE) have arrived; as well as Hugo's Flip Camera. Check messages and both to office to catch up on stuff. We plan on eating very little; then going to bed. Later ~

Meet Tom Snow; George Widman; Norman Foster; and David Bradshaw for lunch at Lotus Chinese place. Harry Baddely and his wife took off for Frisco this morning early. Home and down for nap. Up and feed girl. Open mail - one book request. Check on line and I've sold One Shadows of Eagles. Spend afternoon trying to get information on father John Liver's memorial date. A local museum in Montana wants me to speak and sign my books while I'm there for the service. Beth home and I fix chips, beans and dip for dinner. Both of us to office and work on separate projects. Guy doesn't show and find out he left message so call him back and make new appointment for tomorrow. Off to Beth's place of employment where I show one of the workers my Flip camera. Home and work on re-adjusting Whiskey Tears. Make lunch then watch Randolph Scott in "Ten Wanted Men" on Western Channel. To office then down for nap. Up and get mail - pills and feed girls. To office and work on Whiskey Tears until Beth comes home. Cook and we eat dinner. She calls Blue Cross to try and straighten out my policy. Then she off to a meeting. I work in office and write here. She'll be home in an hour or so and we'll go to bed. Later ~

Stop at post office in Palm Desert and mail four books. Buy more stamps. Home and check e-mail and news sites. Then it was off to brother Bobby's and after he showed me the changes he'd made to his condo, we went to a postal place and got some signatures notarized. I dropped him at his place and headed over to Beth's place of employment. Talk Beth for a few minutes; then drove home. Made lunch and watched the end of "White Buffalo" with Bronson. To office, then down for nap. Up and feed girls; open mail. To office and work on swapping chapters in Whiskey Tears - it works better starting off with chapter two. Bob by with ironing. Beth calls and I drove over then we to airport to pick up van pilot took there this morning. Pick up my car then we drive home. Fix salad for both of us and we eat and talk. I do trash - boy do we make a lot. She washes her hair and showers; while I work on WT for a while. Write here, She sends an e-mail. Later ~

Memorial Day (not official day) Three-day Weekend.

Took her car to meeting because she needs big car to transport boxes to Sue's after meeting. I home after meeting. Check e-mail and news sites. Work on a few projects until Beth gets back; then put cars in garage and I start lunch. We eat and talk. Then I down for nap early with girls. Up an hour earlier than usual and think it's almost four and it's only two-thirty. Feed girls before I realize it's too early. Join Beth in office where we work together. Start getting dinner ready then she takes over and e have an early supper; as I'm scheduled to do a writer's chat on the Internet at six-o'clock. Chat went very well. Now she's showering and we'll be in the sack before you know it. Later~

Stop at Office Depot after meeting and drip off MDD tickets for Xeroxing. Home. Check e-mail and news sites. Popcorn with girls. Work on several projects. UPS checks come for Beth so I drive them over to her at work. Stay and talk o Eric while she dashes to bank to cash one of them, She back and I drive home. Fix some lunch and watch TV while I eat - Greyeagle on Western Channel. Office; then down for nap. Up and feed girls. Mail - the papers Bobby said I should be getting didn't come; he'll call Texas to find out why. Start filling out primary ballots. Call Lee Ellis for some suggestions; he'll call back later. Get contract from publisher for Whiskey Tears. Read it. Back to voting. Package a book for a mail order customer and take to car. Waiting for Beth. She working late. Sleep in day. Beth up and off to Hall. I up at 5:55. Shower, dress, eat with paper. Vacuum house; then mop floors. Beth home and we talk. Both to office and work for a while. Fix her lunch (tacos) and we eat. I'm really tired so I down for nap(three hours). Up and feed girls. To office and putz as she has Maad Dog Daze committee over for a meeting. Listen to Joey's radio show taped last Thursday - last half online. Meeting over. We have a small salad then we watch Without a Trace recording. Beth showers and we to bed. Later ~

Pioneertown Encampment Celebration

Grocery shopping after meeting; then home and unload. Beth and I get ready and take off for Pionertown to participate in their Encampment fiesta. I sell a few books. Hotter than blazes; Beth sizzles. We meet some nice people and some we already know - like Lloyd and Dale Noel' Ernie and Carol Kester. No food except Pappy and Harriett's and there must be over a thousand or almost people in town (motorcycles and visitors). Pick up some P&H food to go and we eat around 2:00 P.M. - Watch gunfights. Then pack up and drive home around 3:00. Home in less than an hour. Much hotter in Coachella Valley. Beth heads for the shower immediately. I check e-mail and mail - phone messages. She goes through mail while I snack on chips and dip. She too worn out to eat. Popsicles for dessert - she eats one of these. To office and work a while, Then we watch CSI Vegas recording before hitting the sack. Later ~

Dive into Shadows of Eagles and finally get full cover finished including importing author photo. Stop for lunch and some of Gene Autry's Carolina Moon on Western Channel. Down for nap. Up and feed girls. Mail and UPS left for Beth. Drive over and drop envelope to Beth then home. Work on getting ISBN for new book and e-mail PA to ask them to pull old book from online book stores. Beth picks me up and we drive over to near Del Webb's to look for moving company. Order pizza and pick it up on way home. Eat then she watches DWTS. I back and we watch NCIS. Kiss her good buy and drive to Rancho Los Rios in Oak Glenn. Meet Major Mitchell and we sell books. Sell a few more today than yesterday. Talk with visitors and John Saunders: the man who invited us. Lunch for me today was cowboy beans and corn on the cob - with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Head for home at three. Arrive at four. Change clothes and check e-mail and news sites. Download some video I took today. Waiting for Beth to get back from Maad Dog Daze Meeting.

Today in Oak Glenn - Old Ways Days

Leave meeting early to go grocery shopping so I get home early to unload and put away then change my clothes and and make sure everything is in the car, Beth home and we take off for Oak Glen and Old Ways Days at Rancho Los Rios. About an hour to get there - arrive just after 10:00. Major Mitchell is already set up; so is John Sanders. They help me to unload; then Beth takes off to meet Robin Anderson at her new home in Yucaipa for lunch. Shoot the shot with the other writers and take some pics. Beth back a little after Noon. I get a beef sand and get her an ice cream. Back to get her some cowboy beans and I get pie and ice cream. Sell no books until around 2:30 then sell two And .... Action!s in five minutes. Walk around place with Major taking pics. Back and decide to pack it up and leave just before 4:00. Home by 5:00 - unload and into house. She reads mail; I check e-mail. We have chips and salsa; then we watch recording of CSI Miami. She showers. Watch Without a Trace recording. Later ~
