June 19th thru July 1st, 2011

We took off for Bismarck, North Dakota on the 19th of June. Drove up I-15 through Vegas, Mesquite, St. George, Utah; landing in Evanston, Wyoming the first night. On to Sheridan, Wyoming for second night; then a stop at the Custer Battlefield to pay our respects, and on to Glendive in pouring rain to drop off Beth's jewelry sign to brother Colin who wasn't there. On to Dickinson, North Dakota for a third night; and finally Bismarck, North Dakota where we settle in for a few days for the annual Western Writers of America convention. Meet up with Andrew J. and Mary Francis Fenaday, C. Courtney Joyner, Stan Corliss, and many other members for a rootin' tootin' time. Visited Fort Abraham Lincoln where Custer was commander. Enjoyed good food and friendship. And we attended several interesting panels. Took off for Madera on Sunday, June 26 where we met up with Conrad Sloat and sisters Linda and Shannon. Followed them to Glendive for lunch on brother Colin; then on to Sidney, Montana where we stayed for three days. Dinners with family; tours of the area; and a wound specialist working on Beth's injured ankle. Off for home on June 29th. Stop in Dillon, Montana on first night; St. George, Utah on second night. Made it home on Friday a little after noon. Unpacked and took a long nap with Beth. Up and shop for evening. Eat then bed early.
